Position Description:
- Supervise five to ten labourers, contractors, as you complete landscaping construction projects outdoors at various sites (commercial, institutional, park and recreation sites, private residences)
- Seasonal, full time work (50 hours/week)
- Organize and direct planting of trees, gardens and lawns, plan, manage and supervise landscape construction work, requisition or order materials, equipment and supplies, establish work schedules and procedures, resolve work related problems
- Plan and estimate labour and materials, maintain work records and logs, read blueprints and drawings
Requirements:
- Languages: English
- Education: No degree, certificate or diploma
- Experience: 5 years or more
- Equipment and Machinery Experience: Front end loader, backhoe, forklift, pick-up truck, small engine equipment, tractor
- Skills: Team player, excellent oral communication, initiative, judgement, work in fast-paced environment, work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, handling heavy loads, perform physically demanding work, manual dexterity, attention to detail, ability to distinguish between colours, combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching, kneeling
- Must provide: Driver’s validity license check
- Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety shoes, hard hat, safety vest, safety glasses, gloves
